*white paper (spiral)
*binder which includes sections for ESL section
*blue or black pen AND pencil AND red, green, or purple marking pen or pencil
Class and Homework
*Complete your assigned work on time. Late work is rarely accepted.
*After you have been absent, first check the agenda and then ask me for makeup work. Agenda items can also be found on my Teacher Webpage.

Grade Record for work completed during the six weeks, with two check points:
*parents can refer online to check grades as well
*mid six weeks average after 3rd week, with parent signature to earn incentive “points”
*final six weeks average at end of grading period, with parent signature to earn incentive “points”
*Tests, Projects, Major Grades—40% and Daily Work, Quizzes, etc.—60%

1st period: ESL 3--Reading
2nd period: ESL 1--English
3rd period: ESL 1--Reading
4th period: 6th grade Lunch Bunch
5th period: 7th grade Reading TAKS LB: Success Lunch Bunch
6tth period: 8th grade Reading TAKS LB
7th period: ESL-English
8th period: ESL 2-English

ESL 1—Daily Activity “FLOW”
5 minutes: Warm-up exercise “Sponge Activity”
2 minutes: Agenda on projector: Homework assignments
2 minutes: Set the purpose for today’s activities
10 minutes: Phonics Review
25 minutes: Today’s lesson
5 minutes: Sustained Silent Reading, Short books

ESL 2—“TYPICAL DAY” schedule
5 min. +: Students work individually on a Warm-up activity: such as Daily Language Practice, Journal writing, Grammar Review, etc..
2 min.: Show agenda on projector for students to record Homework, etc.
2 min.: Set the purpose for today’s activities
10 min: PHONICS IN CONTEXT or Vocabulary exercises—Level B, Orange bo30 min. Do the day’s lesson, stemming from the day’s purpose and the Vocabulary review

ESL 3—“TYPICAL DAY’ schedule
5 min. +: Students work individually on a Reading Reflection entry, to be included with this week’s reading log (done on notebook paper,
modeled by teacher first few days)
2 min.: Show agenda on projector for students to record homework, etc.
2 min: Set the purpose for today’s activities
10 min: Read aloud to class something that will set the tone for the rest ofthe day’s work. Alt. Read for information.
20 min: Do the day’s lesson, stemming from the day’s purpose and read aloud
Last 10 min: Record beginning page and begin SSR in current student book(class book, library book, self-selected reading, etc.—as appropriate). Keep track with a book mark or record end page on Reading Log before leaving.
