Do the day’s lesson, stemming from the day’s purpose and the Vocabulary review ESL 3—“TYPICAL DAY’ schedule 5 min. +: Students work individually on a Reading Reflection entry, to be included with this week’s reading log (done on notebook paper, modeled by teacher first few days) 2 min.: Show agenda on projector for students to record homework, etc. 2 min: Set the purpose for today’s activities 10 min: Read aloud to class something that will set the tone for the rest ofthe day’s work. Alt. Read for information. 20 min: Do the day’s lesson, stemming from the day’s purpose and read aloud Last 10 min: Record beginning page and begin SSR in current student book(class book, library book, self-selected reading, etc.—as appropriate).
